I would like to feature the painting below and give a little backround to it.

I painted this painting in 2004. It was painted over another painting, entitled "Passing Through a Silent Prayer."

My wife and I wanted to do an ad in Art in America to thank Southwest Gallery for putting up with me (at the time over 30 years). We could not find a work we wanted to spend that kind of money on advertising. However,  "Passing Through a Silent Prayer" came back to the studio for a make over.

After some 20+ layers of glazing and scraping the painting below began to appear and we soon had our painting and placed the ad. The ad ran in the first issue of 2005.

The CEO of Pier One Imports saw the ad and bought the work, and it hung outside his office. It was the first thing you saw when you got off the elevator on his floor. I find that Life can be strange sometimes. Sadly, Pier One is no more and Southwest Gallery once again had this work for Sale.

"Spring Light" is 83in. X 64in. acrylic on canvas and was $8,000.00. I feel it is one of my best works of that pediod. I hope you like seeing it.
